Selected Case Studies

Licensing / Partnership

License Platform Bio-chemicals Technology from a NASDAQ listed biotech company to a large chemical company

A USD 10 bil. US based NASDAQ listed biotech company needed to evaluate the potential for a new fermentation technology to manufacture bio-based platform molecules. They engaged i2i who investigated the capability and potential of the technology, evaluated the organization’s capabilities to commercialize the technology, researched and identified potential licensing partners and assisted in executing its commercial partnership.

Market Penetration

Extending the use of biopolymers via additive technology

A global polymer / chemical company wanted to investigate new markets for an additive and employed i2i. i2i tested the additive in various biopolymers at an independent test laboratory and found substantial improvement in several properties in biopolymers. i2i then investigated the market potential based on these property improvements and recommended the next steps in commercializing the additive in the biopolymers.

Start-up spinout

Spin out a bio based nutraceutical from a University Incubator

A European university / research incubator wanted to develop biotechnological processes for new bio based molecules using their biotechnology tool box, when they called i2i to investigate potential target molecules. i2i investigated and identified several target molecules to the incubator. The incubator developed the processes for two of the molecules. i2i is currently engaged in spinning out a start-up based on the two molecules that the incubator has developed.
